Effective December 28, 2018, the New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) will no longer perform “Electrical Wiring” inspections for oil and gas locations requiring electric service.
Lea County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LCEC) will not be able to establish service at such locations without the necessary permits and inspections. A Statement of Fact Contractor Certificate must be completed and signed by a New Mexico State Licensed Electrical Contractor and a National Qualified Electrical Inspector. Electrical Contractor and Electrical Inspector may not be the same person. The completed form must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, before service is connected at an oil and gas location.
In order for service to be connected at an oil and gas location in New Mexico the following steps must be followed;
- Distribution Engineering Department must be contacted.
- Location is staked by Distribution Engineering.
- Work Order is created.
- Permit must be received by System Operations.
- Statement of Facts must be completed and emailed to email@example.com by both Electrical Contractor and Electrical Inspector.
- Work Order is released for construction.
- LCEC must be contacted.
- Statement of Facts must be completed by both Electrical Contractor and Electrical Inspector.
- Crew is sent out to repair service.
